Have you ever felt like flying? Here's a unique way to learn a unique skill:
I.FLY in Smithtown is Long Island's newest craze – a trapeze school
with trained instructors and classes for people of all ages and ability levels.
Apparently, swinging on a trapeze isn't just for circus performers any more.
Classes are offered as after-school sessions, in the mornings for mothers,
workshops in such skills as "catch and return," and other activities.
Reportedly, I.FLY is so popular it's actually become a popular dating destination,
and groups are welcomed as well.

Get A Bang
From July
Fireworks
Here are some places to go if you'd like to enjoy fireworks around the July
4 holiday. Obviously, the big annual Macy's-sponsored fireworks display in
New York City is a huge draw – for people from Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Avoid the NYC hubbub and enjoy the best in Long Island and Queens big bangs
here:
A Fireman's Fair, which will feature live fireworks displays on July 5 and
July 6, will be July 3 through July 7 (no event on July 4) at Stimson School,
located at Oakwood Road in Huntington. Hours are 7 pm to 11 pm, and Saturday,
5 pm to midnight.
Long Island City hosts an annual Fireworks Festival featuring music, food,
games, and a terrific view of the Macy’s Fireworks display on July 4.
The festival takes place at Hunter's Point Pier, located at Borden Avenue
and d 5th Streets. This is a great alternative to driving in to New York City,
as the Queens Midtown Tunnel starts to resemble war-torn Beirut starting at
about 3 pm.
Long Island is home to the Grucci family, long known as the finest pyrotechnics
presenters in the world. The Gruccis will present fireworks during Long Island
Ducks baseball games at Citibank Park in Central Islip on July 3 and 4; "Stars
Over Montauk" in Umbrella Beach in Montauk on July 4; during the East
Islip Fire Department Carnival on July 4 and July 7; and for Rockville Centre's
114th birthday on July 7 in Mill River Park.
